WALA: Prayer

What is prayer?
  • When people talk to God
  • A quiet time to pray to God
  • When people come to stillness together or by themselves to pray
  • A form of worship to the Holy Trinity
  • A time to ask God for important needs
  Why do we pray?
  • We believe in God and he is good to us
  • So we can feel better when things happen/ a form of comfort
  • We want to be with God when we die
  • To talk to God
  • We believe in God the father, Jesus the son and the Holy Spirit
  • To thank God/ to ask for something
Where and when do we pray?
  • At school, Church and home
  • Before we go to bed
  • Anywhere and anytime
  • Before meals
What makes a good pray-er? (Kai Karakia)
  • People who pray whenever they can – they make time to pray
  • When you tell/speak the truth
  • Close your eyes to listen
  • Still and quiet
  • Believe and live Gods words
  • Respects God and his people and his words
  • Use our whole body – mind, actions, imagination, heart
